OK, Here Is What I Said…

People keep asking about the post I deleted. After reading it again, I should have kept it and Susan’s comments.

In a nutshell, I titled the post, "The torture is almost over." I then went on to say I was looking at the debate, and I have watched EVERY SINGLE ONE, of our President’s debates and I said I was not inspired and I felt a lot of what he was trying to do in office right now was too little too late. Then I said, I was not reassured by his speech. Susan left a message saying had it not been for this "uninspiring" president, I would be in a terrorist state, wearing a veil with no rights. She fears the country is going to hell in a hand basket with the next batch of Presidential candidates.

I will make it clear, I do not vote along party lines. I happen to respect our President, because he is OUR President. I pray for the man to be safe every night. I don’t agree with many of his policies, but I can respect he has an opinion and in the end, he thinks he is doing what is right for the U.S. I did not bash him. I am tired of all the political bullcrap that goes on in Washington, and when he is gone, Congress can not use him as an excuse for not getting their shit together. That was my whole point. I happen to like two people on the republican side and two on the democratic side.

I love this time of year during an election year. It is exciting and fun to watch people get out there and prove to you they are worthy of running the country you live in. How can you want to shut down lively debate about our leaders? How can you NOT want to hold them accountable for their actions and decisions? How can you try to sensor me for having an opinion?

Like I stated earlier, this blog will be dedicated to crafty, creative stuff. I am about uplifting, not breaking people down. Even if I don’t agree with them, I will show them respect. That is the right thing to do.

nicole - No need to apologize – after doing a lot of reading/research on your country recently, you current president scares the crap out of me. And the idea that your country would turn into a terrorist state, is complete propaganda fueled by your government – I really hope your citizens can learn to open your eyes and see everything for what it is.

Please feel free to delete this post – while i think it is a real shame that you feel you have to censor yourself, I respect your agenda to restrict your topics.

chris pellis - A terrorist state? never happen, we are seriously armed and independent for any of that to happen. you can be patriotic and not agree with our government–look at their track record–completely unreliable. the government is just fueling the paranoia of terrorist takeovers and making a bad situation worse.

Don’t censor your blog, Lu, you have a right to your opinions–FREEDOM OF SPEECH, dammit!!

Christina - Listen to me sweetheart. This is your blog. Put the first amendment on your sidebar if need be, to remind people that is how you roll on your blog :+) Freedom of speech or freedom alone is not something we should take lightly. You make this blog what you want it to be and never look back while doing it.

mrc1471 - I didn’t get to read the first post and I am so sorry that people cannot just respect other peoples’ opinions without feeling the need to bash them. I don’t think you should sensor yourself, I think if some people don’t like what you have to say, then don’t come over and read it. I love your blog and I love that you do put it out there. don’t stop – don’t let them get you down.

essensevibez - First of all, NEVER, EVER let one person destroy your thoughts or how you feel about anything in your life..WHEN YOU DO THAT, YOU GIVE THEM POWER..She is one person and that one person doesn’t speak for me or anyone else for that matter…I’m glad you did speak up, it’s your right…I deal with people like everyday on my job..i dont let what they say affect me (even though it is hard at times)…but what keeps me going is prayer…gurrlll, keep whoever she is in prayer and ask that God guides her fingers to type the right things to type and not blast you or anyone else of how you feel…pray about it and watch how it will change things for her…thats why i say be careful how you treat people because you might need them one day to help you..God is good and always on time…as for me, you have a loyal friend and blog buddy for life…she didnt change me or how i feel about you..let no one block your blessings!!!..REMAIN BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVOURED MY SISTAH’!!!!!

You have the right attitude, and I think you hit the nail on the head about Congress too. You have the right to your opinion, and are top notch for expressing it so respectfully. When someone like Susan makes an extreme blanket statement like that, it’s obvious they aren’t being rational, but have chosen to become overly emotionally involved on some level. Anyway, kudos to you – keep setting a great example for the rest of us!

Kimberly Kwan - Amen!
You are a smart, well-informed, and most importantly OPEN-MINDED woman.

I think that if more Americans would take the time to really STUDY all sides of the issues at hand (not just the ones in their own party’s propaganda,) to really learn about each candidate and what they’re about, and keep an OPEN MIND to points of view which may differ from their own…then we may really and finally begin to effect some REAL change around here.

I also agree that the entire SYSTEM needs a-fixin….and any one candidate is NOT going to be able to make much happen. The change needs to become from the very core…from the local governments, from the House and Senate…and even from our highest courts. One person in a seat at the top cannot alone make much difference in 4 years. Not anymore…sadly!
