"Perseverance isn’t just the willingness to work hard. It’s that, plus the willingness to be stubborn about your own belief in yourself." – Merlin Olsen
How I LOVE a good quote. What I like about this one is the last part of it. You have to be stubborn about believing in yourself. I don’t see enough people doing that. How easily we allow someone else’s stupid opinions of us matter in our lives. If the opinions are not constructive why do you give them power over you? Small people try to make strong people feel weak with their words. They have nothing else to use against you, so they use their little words.
When you start to reach your potential and your goals, there will always be someone there to tell you that you can’t. At this point in my life, I have no use for those kinds of people and I let them know right away. You know the whole garbage in, garbage out concept. The same applies for negativity. If you let it in, it has to get out some kind of way. For many of us, that is through our mouths. We say things that are just so bad and try to band-aid it later with, "I’m Sorry." Are you really sorry? Or sorry you feel like crap because you made someone else feel like crap?
If you believe in yourself, it will show. It can’t help but show. I am extremely stubborn about believing in myself and being a positive example for my children. It is not always easy, but it sure does feel good being that way.
