An Art Journal Page in Three Steps

canvas for creativity
I am going to tell you how this page came together in three steps.

The image. I have been holding on to this image of the balancing lady for months, not quite knowing what I wanted to do with it.

The title. Last week, I found the words Canvas for Creativity and it went perfectly with the image.

The words. A few days later, I read a story where the author wrote about mindful living. This was just the message I wanted to go along with the title.

That is how this page came together in three steps. The message is clear. It is simple and to the point. That is why I love it. No fluff and completely authentic. Mindful. Exactly what I was going for.

Donna - Ah this is so appealing on many levels. I love the colour combinations, the background and the beautiful soft dusky pinks in her clothes… I love the lines – the swing of her skirt, the tilt of her arms, and the lightness in her hands… And I love the words – mindfully living. Ah yes, we only get one go at this don’t we? It’s not a dress rehearsal, living mindfully in the moment – each moment is sacrament. Each moment is golden and priceless, so worth stepping slowly and carefully into. Hmm – thanks for a thought provoking post!

Shell - It a lovely image and I feel exactly describes the creative process. Well, how I feel with my creations. Always teering and trying to find my way to let everything flow.

Diana Trout - I love the image and the message and just as much I love the patient unfolding of the page. It is as though you found the pieces and let them be until the whole thought came together. Now THAT’s art journaling. Thanks L.
