Evo Conference **The People**, Part 2

Meeting people is my main reason in going to conferences like Evo. I get to see friends I usually interact with primarily online and meet new ones I wish I had known years ago. This is the final installment of my adventures at Park City and I thought it fitting to end with more of the great people I met.

the marie pose

Marie and I shared the Craft Workshop session at the Evo Conference along with Elizabeth and Cindy. Apparently, this pose here is classic Marie. She said she saw some pictures of her from back in the day and she is doing this identical pose. That cracks me up.

Karen and I have been friends for a minute and finally met for the first time in 2008 at BlogHer. She has a book coming out in a few months called The Beauty of Different and she is on a quest to shoot 1,000 faces. It was an honor having her shoot my portrait and after seeing how she is able to capture just the right look from each person she shoots, I now understand why this woman’s talent is endless.
christineyoungChristine, if you can not tell is pregnant…with her seventh child. At the closing party, she and #7 were dancing circles around the other ladies on the dance floor. She has such a wonderful spirit and a smile to match. I am so glad I finally had a chance to meet her.

brene brown

I have been reading Brené’ s blog, Ordinary Courage for a few years and I always loved the authentic nature and honesty of her writing. Meeting her in person and listening to her and Karen as the closing keynote was one of the highlights of the conference for me. Not because she said horse shit, which made me instantly love her, but because she could not have been more real and genuine if she tried. She is beyond awesome.

There are so many other wonderful people I met at Evo and I did not capture nearly half of them in pictures. They  inspired and embraced me just as I am. I can say I walked away from this conference a different person. All good, of course and knowing it was time for me to evolve into who I am suppose to be. I am no longer afraid of change or fearing not knowing what is waiting for me around the bend. Instead, I welcome the unknown with excitement, as I know this is how you live your life fully…with joy, zeal and excited anticipation. Be blessed, my friends.

Christine - Seeing and meeting wonderful people – like you – is the #1 reason why I attend conferences, as well! I am beyond thrilled that I got the chance to meet you, laugh with you, and shake my belly for you!

Please tell me you’ll be at BlogHer?

P.S. Apple Jolly Rancher! heehee
