Moving. I am not sure why so many people say they hate moving. For me, it is not the process of moving I find frustrating. It is realizing how much material crap I have accumulated over the years. And, I can not believe I am about to say this, but I am seriously considering getting some kind of book reader in the near future. I sold more than half my library because I did not want to move all of those books to a new place. I can tell you this, the girl who checked my books in told me she loved my collection…she said I brought in the most interesting books she had seen in a long time. While I hated to let so many of my treasured books go, I knew it was time to purge them and make room for something different.
I am sending a prayer up for some friends who were let go from their jobs today. It is never easy when this happens, even if you do see the writing on the wall. People are still people no matter what and any kind of loss, be it your job, marriage or a family member is never easy. Keep your head up, guys. I am thinking about you.

Cynthia Ar A Shimmy In My Spirit - I always have such mixed feelings about moving…hate the chaos but like the clearing out.
I thought I would hate reading on a device. I love books and am one of those people who writes notes in margins and highlights like crazy. I turn my books into a sort of diary so can’t sell most of them. I recently got an iPad and to my surprise love iBooks. I can even write notes on pages and highlight. I just took a trip and had novels, magazines, travel guides and movies with me…all on the iPad.
Dottie - Oof! I’m quite impressed by your library purge. You are a stronger person than I am!
And I’ll be sending some very good jujus over to your friend that lost jobs. To say it is gut wrenching is an understatement.
