Keep looking forward. Your past has no place in your present and it does not dictate the outcome of your future. There will be people around you who are stuck. Stuck in anger, hate, animosity, cruelty and misery…all by their choice. Pray for them, because no matter what you do, you can not change them. People have to want to change. People have to want to take ownership for their mess instead of blaming you or others for their situations. Truth is truth.
Refuse to be their mirror. Don’t reflect back to them what they give you. Rise higher. Remember Who lives inside of you. Draw on that strength. Pray for those who persecute you, who slander your name, who lie on you…pray for them and bless them. Stand your ground, pick up your sword of the Spirit and shield of faith.
Put on truth.
Stand firmly in your place.

We just had a person who “knows everything” become hospital administrator.
She has taken the spirit out of the work place.
I keep dwelling on this and I find I can’t let it go.
Your words have helped me understand more clearly that you really can’t change people.

Tanisha - I love this post. It’s why I created my blog for people going through divorce. I didn’t want to deal with it in a negative way and fall into the stigma that all divorced people are bitter and angry. I use my past as a way to learn from my mistakes to make me better in my future.
