In three days, I will find myself in transition again. I do not see endings negatively. In fact, they are opportunities to move on to something new and more exciting. They are an opportunity to turn lemon situations into the best lemonade ever. The past year and a half has been filled with so many changes the thought of them makes my head spin. When I do find a quiet moment to reflect on them, I am thankful. I am thankful because I am still standing in spite of it all. Here are a few things I have learned during this time:
- I am ten times stronger than I gave myself credit for.
- I am faithful.
- I may kick and scream while change is going on, but eventually, I see that it is for the best.
- Being sensitive and caring is not a weakness.
- I do not have to defend lies against me. I always have the truth to stand on and it always comes out.
- Quality relationships mean so much more than superficial, instant gratification relationships, and you can only get those from people who have integrity.
- Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself.
- People who hurt you are wounded people, and having compassion for them is not only the Christian thing to do, it is what leads to healing for all.
- Always treat people better than they treat you.
- Take the high road.
- Misery loves company. Choose to not be that company. Avoid at all costs.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
- Some people are not your friend.
- You can maintain your joy regardless of what kind of storm you are going through.
- Good always wins out over evil.
- Your attitude is something you can control and having a bad one is a choice.
- Always do good.
Being in transition isn’t such a bad thing. At least, not from where I am standing. I am speaking good things and life into my future and expecting something good to happen to me every single day. With thinking like this, how can I possible go wrong?
