Changing Pace & the Gift of Reflection

Trees on Fire

I am amazed at how many pictures I take with my phone. I guess I do it because of the convenience of having a camera right there when I want to capture a moment.  Or,  it could be shooting with a less than perfect device challenges me to be creative with my captures. Maybe I am starting to see daily imperfections as truly beautiful. Or, it could be as simple as I just like doing it. Photography has become a staple in my life. I look at people differently. I see what is not so easily revealed to the senses, a vulnerability,  a realness that you can only see if you willingly take the time to really know someone.

I like this time of year because the pace of the day changes. It slows down and offers the gift of reflection, personal nurturing and cultivating a sense of peace. I am learning to cherish times like this instead of wishing I had a full schedule. This time is precious and the flow of it is exactly as it should be. People who are currently in my life are as they should be. Activities, as they should be. Life…as it should be. It is good. Life is simply good.
